Description
The Office of Community Services (OCS), which is administratively attached to the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, is requesting proposals from qualified applicants to provide comprehensive services in at least one county under the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This program provides funding for individuals who are at least 60 years old as of April 1 of the program year in which the participant wishes to participate, if the participant's income is less than 185 percent of the federal poverty level.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awards grants to state agencies to provide low-income seniors with coupons that can be exchanged for eligible foods (fruits, vegetables, honey, and fresh-cut herbs) at farmers' markets through the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program.
