Description
Moli Point Predator Fence Maintenance and Repair, Kuaokala Game Management Area, Waialua, Oahu

Background and General Information

The original 600-meter fence was constructed in 2020, encompassing approximately four (4) acre Laysan Albatross colony. The fence consists of cladded wire mesh, secured to treated wooden posts. The mesh minimum diameter, skirt design, hood, and height are designed to exclude ALL mammalian predators present in Hawaii. The existing fence is located in a remote section of the Kuaokala Game Management Area.

This solicitation requests a quote for materials, labor and any other associated costs to remove old, cladded mesh and installation of new coated mesh over existing posts.

The site is only accessible via unimproved, unpaved forest dirt road. 4WD is required. Additional access requirements may be required, per USAF Space Force. DOFAW staff will work with awarded vendor to refine access protocols and procedures.

Vendors and personnel may camp onsite, pending additional permitting. Special conditions and restrictions may apply – awarded vendors may negotiate conditions with DOFAW staff prior to contract start date.
