- The contracted vendor shall:
• Develop a professional develop program for in service classroom teachers and/or teaching artists.
• Incorporate clear and tangible ways to use the National Core Arts Standards in classroom teaching, which will require time and resources to familiarize classroom teachers with National Core Arts Standards and how to navigate them
• Include an online/virtual backup plan—if the PD isn’t already fully virtual.
• Connect the work of the professional development into the Department of Education (D.O.E) HĀ framework
The contracted vendor(s) shall create and implement one or more of the following:
• Hybrid (online/in person) Professional Development to increase teaching artists knowledge and skills to work with underrepresented populations (such as pre-k students, Native Hawaiians, veterans, LGBTQ youth, people experiencing homelessness, people who are neurodiverse, people in elderly homes, youth with terminal illnesses, etc.). These PDs will directly relate to an expansion arts education for non K-12 school experiences.
• Hybrid (online/in person) Professional Development for teaching artists who are not on the ATP roster and/or professional development for classroom teachers at public and public charter schools.
• Various mini online professional development one-off sessions for teaching artists on the SFCA roster to strengthen skill sets in their specific field.
Projects May Include:
Professional development workshops, classes, institutes, series, residencies and similar activities. Sessions must be designed for only classroom teachers; or only teaching artists; or classroom teachers and teaching artists together. Sessions designed to increase teaching artist capabilities of the Artistic Teaching Partners (ATP). Sessions for mentoring classroom teachers with teaching artists. Sessions for mentoring ATP. Sessions that articulate with SFCA arts residency programs (e.g. Artists in the Schools, Art Bento @ HiSAM, APP Artists in Residence). Be sure to present an alternative online ‘Plan B’ if COVID19 impacts your original plans.
Other Information
• A written, final report to SFCA on the progress of the work for the above specified schedule inclusive of high-resolution images with photographer credit, due 30 days after the end of the Agreement or after the funds are expended, whichever is earliest. Documentation of activities will be used by SFCA for reporting and promotion.
• Inform SFCA Staff about activities for site visits and so that SFCA can assist with promotion or facilitation of activities as needed.
• The SFCA intends to award to more than one responsible offeror.
• Price must be inclusive of all taxes and fees.
• Invoices may be submitted as expenses are incurred.
Timeline:
• January 10, 2022- HiePro Deadline
• January– Notification of funding
• January-February – Contracting
• January 31, 2021 through June 30, 2022 – Project implementation period
• July 31, 2022 – Final report to SFCA
