Vehicular access to site may be limited due to terrain and vegetation.
The area has with limited access due to vegetation and terrain. Vegetation removal is not required for this RFQ, however the bidders may create paths by removing vegetation in coordination with DOFAW.

Garbage and Debris removal services for the Oahu Division of Forestry and Wildlife.

Bids shall include the complete costs for:
1) Removal of all trash/garbage and debris from designated area in Kawainui Marsh
2) Removal of lumber, fencing materials from designated areas in Kawainui Marsh
3) Disposal and hauling materials off-site
Work is to be done in accordance with the listed specs below:
4) The bidder shall furnish all labor, supervision, supplies, tools, equipment and other means necessary or proper for performing and completing the work. The bidder shall be responsible to repair or restore all structures and property that may be damaged or disturbed during performance of the work to the satisfaction of DOFAW Staff.
5) If necessary, the contractor may store all construction equipment as directed by DOFAW staff, and if necessary remove it at its own expense. Equipment will be stored at the contractors own risk.
6) No hazardous materials will be removed at this time.
7) The Pre-Offer conference will determine the exact scope of trash/garbage and debris.

Tree trimming services for the Oahu Division of Forestry and Wildlife. At the Kawainui Marsh State Wildlife Sanctuary
This Request for Quotation, (RFQ) will be posted and awarded online via the HIePRO System.
All bidders must be qualified with a valid State of Hawaii Contractors License, C-27b, Tree Trimming and Removal, or equivalent. Bidder shall specify license type in bid.
General Specifications:
1) The bidder shall furnish all labor, supervision, supplies, tools, equipment and other means necessary or proper for performing and completing the work. The bidder shall be responsible for the cleaning up of the job site and shall repair or restore all structures and property that may be damaged or disturbed during performance of the work to the satisfaction of DOFAW Staff.
2) Tree Limb and Trunk Removal: The contractor shall remove and grind all limbs and trunks associated with the target tree. All cut limbs must be ground/chipped approximately 24hours after cutting.
3) Stump Removal (if specified): The contractor shall remove tree stump and buttress roots as directed by DOFAW representative to a minimum point of SIX inches (6”) below grade. All driveway areas are to be left flat and meet original grade. The area will then be backfilled with chipped material.
4) Grinding Disposal: After grinding (removal) of a tree stump, associated roots, limbs, etc. the Contractor shall remove all stump grindings and dispose at an approved onsite location.
5) There shall be at least one (1) “Certified Arborist” on site or providing detailed technical assistance to ground crews.
6) If targeted limbs/trees are affecting telephone and cable lines, Contractor is responsible to notify and coordinate work with associated utility companies.
7) When working near public roadways, the Contractor shall consult with the Department of Transportation to determine whether a traffic control plan is necessary. The traffic control plan and implementation shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
8) If necessary, the contractor may store all construction equipment as directed by DOFAW staff, and if necessary remove it at its own expense.
